Project overview

The main goal of Interactive Mobile Assisted system and Guidance learnING for RFID technology (iMAGING), is to create a new teaching and learning methodology about the application of new technologies for product identification and traceability like RFID (Radio Frequency IDentification) in the business world. The creation and transfer of knowledge through this new methodology will be reflected in the subsequent development of an innovative interactive system to assist during the learning process.

This new system will work in mobile devices where the user will be able to interact, to learn and achieve new knowledge and application of the RFID technology. This system will use a new learning methodology and an interactive platform where the users will access to the learning content.

The learning content will be available for all kind of mobile devices, since it will be a webapp.

The general structure of the project is divided in two operational areas.

The STRATEGIC LEVEL is responsible for the overall success of the project, committed to the definition, management and dissemination of project strategy and organization general lines.

The FUNCTIONAL LEVEL is responsible for the work performed according to the project proposal.

In the functional level we have the following WPs:

WP 1 – Definition and design of the learning and teaching methodology

The objective of this work package is to define and design the learning methodology that will serve as a basis for the development of the m-learning tool and learning materials which will be based on the previous developments to be transfered.

WP2 – Specification of the interactive and guidance M-learning system

Specification tasks are an important part of all software projects by improving the probability of success. Specifications summarize the project’s goals, requirements, features and scope. In this WP we will establish the functional specification of the interactive and guidance m-learning system allow to stream and set the future development process.

WP3 – Development of iMAGING content platform

Creation of an mobile web application running on commercially available mobile devices – mobile phones, smartphones, tablets, app that will operate independently from the operating system to ensure maximum availability.

WP4 – Technical validation and evaluation of learning materials

The objective of this work package is to check if iMAGING system operates correctly and that the content has high quality and is useful to end-users. To achieve this, a functional test of the tool and software to validate the methodology on a European level will be performed.

WP5 – Dissemination and exploitation of results

The impact of iMAGING project in the end users is closely related to the range of the dissemination activities that will be performed during the project execution. This WP has the following aims:

  • To raise the awareness among potential users at regional, national and European level;
  • To disseminate the project in educational systems and academic community to raise the awareness for new ways of learning;
  • To disseminate and exchange best practices on new approaches of learning;

WP6 – Project management

Project Management activities will ensure efficient management at both administrative and technical levels. In particular this includes the following aims:

  • To ensure the integration of all activities;
  • To establish internal monitoring and evaluation mechanisms;
  • To define detailed action plans during the overall project;
  • To handle all administrative and financial procedures including, the Consortium Agreement, technical and financial reporting etc.
